For four hours the call returned 200 with an empty body, and the error rate looked fine. A synthetic request every two minutes, with a fixed input and a check that the output looks like a summary, would have paged someone in six.

Check that it isn't empty, that it's under 400 characters, and that it mentions a word from the input. Once an hour, run it with the primary provider switched off to prove the fallback works as well.
