How I turn any handful of colours into a readable theme

This site ships 18 hand-made themes and 368 base16 schemes, and when I measured them, 16 of the first and all 368 of the second broke basic rules about contrast and colour. I wrote those rules down as code, built an engine that repairs a palette with the smallest change it can find, and then pointed it at random colours. Here's how it works and where it stops.

A batch endpoint needs a result per item

One bad row in a batch of 500 should not fail the other 499. If the endpoint answers 400, the only move the client has is to send all 500 again, and the rows that already landed get written twice.

Answer 200, one entry per item in request order, and keep 4xx for a request you could not parse at all. The client retries the failures and nothing else.
